October's Girl Hero

Jo Bader

Meet Jo, our October Girl Hero! Jo first became involved with Girls on the Run Puget Sound in 2009 when a friend invited her to a fundraiser. "I learned about the mission of Girls on the Run Puget Sound and how it combined my love of running with a passion for helping women and girls thrive in life," Jo shared. That year, she went on to sign up to as a 5K Running Buddy. After a fun and inspiring experience at the 5K, Jo then coached for GOTR, helped organize 5Ks, served on the Board of Directors, is now an Advisory Council member, and helps lead the Sneaker Soiree Committee every year!

In three words, Jo would describe GOTR as inspiring, fulfilling, and fun! She reflects, "It’s so great for the girls, but it also provides so many opportunities for young women to get involved. It’s been a great 15 years with a fantastic organization!" Help us give an ENERGY AWARD to Jo for all she has done and continues to do to support Girls on the Run!
