June's Girl Hero: Sonal Modisette
If you were fortunate enough to meet Sonal during her seven-year tenure at GOTR Puget Sound, you know what a dedicated and fun presence she’s been for our team. Sonal’s compassion and careful attention to detail has benefitted every aspect of GOTRPS—from our everyday operations, to our first in-person 5K since 2019, to development work securing grants that directly impact youth in our community. A champion for GOTR’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA) initiatives, Sonal has contributed her unique perspectives, both nationally and at the community and council-level, serving on GOTR’s IDEA Commission. Having served as our Operations Manager and Interim Executive Director, we wish Sonal all the best as she takes this passion with her in a new career adventure. Sonal says:
“For the last seven years, I have been fortunate to be part of an organization that empowers youth to boldly pursue their limitless potential. I think of the girls that participated in our program when I first started at GOTRPS and imagine them navigating their teenage years with a sense of confidence - recognizing and realizing the endless possibilities ahead of them. It was both an honor and a privilege to be part of a team that has made lasting impacts on so many girls. And as much as I feel I have contributed to this organization, its mission, and the larger community, I have received so much more in return. While I turn the page and end this chapter of my career, I look forward to continuing to show up for a community that I truly love – consider me GOTR for life.”
Sonal, we’ll miss your unwavering support, unique spark, and friendly smile!
